This trip departs aboard one of our beautiful and awesome Skipjack sailing vessels, the Danger. Skipjack boats like the Danger are perfect for sailing as they come equipped with a large sail area and are designed in a shallow way to allow for optimal sailing. This is one of the best ways to sail through the beautiful clear waters of Key West. And this boat does more than just sail! Guests can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, a guided tour, and complimentary snacks, soft drinks, and beers.
The snorkeling part of this trip takes you to one of the best spots on the coral reef. The Danger can take guests to places other larger boats cannot. Snorkeling locations on the reef are chosen on the day of your trip depending on factors like weather conditions and the tides. This will ensure that you and your party are able to go on the safest and best snorkeling trip possible for you on any given day, with the ability to enjoy full visibility and a smooth ride free of seasickness.
The kayaking bit of the tour takes you to the beautiful and exotic Mangrove Islands, home to many mangroves (which are the only trees that can grow in salt water). A tour guide will lead the way through the islands explaining biological and historical facts and answering any of your questions.
Kayaking is both easy and fun and allows you to explore the environments of Key West's backcountry in a very unique way. The guides will also help you learn how to properly maneuver your kayak. While kayaking through the Mangrove Islands, you will learn and see for yourself this truly unique island ecosystem. You will be able to explore the tropical environment on your own and come close to a variety of wildlife in their natural habitats. Some common animals that are seen include all sorts of birds, rays and sport fish.
